It is obviously that project work make students to master these skills more effectively. As it have been mentioned, during studying the topic meals it is important to involve students into practical tasks, not only theory, based on those. In addition to our own teacher’s experience of doing projects at the English lessons with the 5th grade students, pupils have brought necessary equipment for the lesson: sliced cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, sausages, lettuce and so on. For the first it were preparation tasks, students have written instructions how to make sandwiches. Students have to add new ideas to the list, they participated in two separate groups where participants took part in doing practical tasks, making sandwiches and discussing it. It is necessary to have opportunity to took part in discussions and to improve their language skills. Such kind of lessons are very effective, because we have real communicative situation, the level of engagement increases, all the students are engaged into the educational process, and it makes them fun and motivates them to study better, not being afraid of making mistakes. It is important to change the routine and bring some new ideas into standard lesson, so project work may cope with this issue with perfect result.
There are a lot of new ideas of projects, it is very effective to make such kinds of lessons, to show practical aim while study English. Learners have a lot of new ideas and they are ready to share with us, students became to study more effectively, it motivates them to learn new things and feel engaged into the tasks, communicate with each other, try to be a leader, develop social skills, flexibility, communication, collaboration etc.
Recommendations
On the basis of these findings, we recommend using project work at the lessons as one of the best ways to study English, to make lessons differ, to motivate students and to improve necessary skills such as collaboration, communication, leadership, initiative, which are very important for future career and promotion.
